Victoria Beckham does it again! After being very successful with the Spice Girls Victoria launched her own fashion range a few years ago with VB jeans. The business developed into two fashion lines: Victoria and Victoria Beckham which both show during the New York Fashion Week. Posh always had passion for fashion but could never imagine to become such a succesful designer who dresses the A-list stars like Kate Winslet and Cheryl Cole. The first 3 months of this year the fashion line of Posh generated more than a staggering 23 million dollars! In between Victoria gave birth to her 4th child, finally a little mini-me: Harper!

Is there anything Posh can’t turn into a success? Congrats girl!!

Who needs a SOAP when you can follow the court battle Louboutin vs YSL?

Last week Front Row Chic reported that YSL won the NY court appeal with the judge ruling that ONE party can not have the monopoly on a colour on a sole..although the judge also stated to sympathise with Louboutin.

NOW Louboutin is going to appeal..and both parties are expected back in court later this week…TO BE CONTINUED…

The soap continues: Louboutin Red Soles

High profile shoe brand Louboutin got a huge blow today now it seems that the signature red soles that defines the SHOE of all SHOES won’t be exclusive for Louboutin.

Judge Victor Marrero of the Southern District of New York ruled that the trademark Louboutin obtained in 2008 for its “lacquered red soles” (on shoes that can sell for more than $1,000 a pair) was “overly broad” and likely not protectable.

The court ruled that allowing Louboutin to claim that scarlet sole as solely its own would have been like enjoining Monet from using a specific shade of blue in his Water Lilies series because Picasso had gotten there first with the paintings in his Blue Period.

“We are profoundly disappointed at the judge’s decision,” Louboutin’s lawyer, Harley Lewin, told Agence France-Presse today. “We are currently evaluating all alternatives.”

So, don’t be surprised if you find red soles at Payless or any other shoe brand!

But fair is fair: there are no BEAUTIES like Louboutin shoes: have a look at these cinderella ones for the coming winter season!

The red sole war: Louboutin versus YSL

Earlier this year we reported that Red Sole Shoe King Christian Louboutin sued shoe designers for using the “Louboutin signature red sole”.

In the opinion of YSL “no designer should be able to monopolise any colour” AND decided to COUNTER SUE Louboutin. I can see the logic of YSL but the judge didn’t so refused to accept arguments submitted by YSL as the two fashion labels battled it out in a New York courtroom last week.

OMG: WHO CARES? I mean: fashion is my BIG THING but looking at the big picture: a lawsuit about RED SOLES!!!!! Let them worry about the bad situation in Ethiopia where children are starving! Better: let them both donate a HUGE amount from all their profits!

Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton want to add more value to get you to buy very expensive goods.

Louis Vuitton is THE MONEYMAKER of the LVMH Group and the luxury brand company spends a lot of money so you can have the perfect luxury shopping experience. London’s Bond Street opened its Louis Vuitton flagship London store. The impressive three-storey building has a two storey wall of trunks, to showcase the Vuitton tradition of working in leather – and a glass and LED staircase. The cost of this building was not disclosed but is thought to be somewhere around 50m dollars.  An investment like this is not un-usual as it’s planned a long time ahead and the Flagship store should be up to date for at least 15 years.

But the most interesting about the new Flagship store isn’t the building but the artwork including oeuvres by Gilbert & George, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami and Jeff Koons.Very clever as customers nowadays want to justify an investment like a very expensive bag (Even people fortunate enough to be able to buy a very expensive bag think again since the crisis)it should add something to their lives and when having the perfect experience and feel like being in a museum the luxury goods get a more “valuable” feel…and one can justify buying that must have bag.

So when in London: have a look at the Flagship Louis Vuitton store: you can see the latest and greatest bags AND admire art: all-in-one: now THAT is to me the PERFECT experience!
